Year 7:

The topic dealing with how to fill in an application form in French, was initially introduced by presenting model application forms of two French celebrities namely a dancer and a singer.   On separate video clips, students then watched both celebrities performing in their domain.  As a learning outcome, students were asked to prepare a similar application form based on their favourite celebrity. The latter was eventually included along with other exhibits related to the Language Week activities held later at school.

Year 8

The topic of leisure and hobbies was introduced by presenting a video clip of a recorded dialogue between two French-speaking classmates.  As a learning outcome, the students were asked to formulate and later act out, a similar conversation about their own hobbies with reference to their own performing art.

Year 9

The topic of comparisons was introduced by showing a PowerPoint presentation based on 2 French celebrities. The presentation included pictures aimed to highlight some differences between both celebrities such as age, nationality, profession, facial, and general physical features.  As a learning outcome, students were asked to provide a similar presentation about any two celebrities of their choice and present it orally in class.

Year 10

To introduce the topic of music within this unit, students were provided with a PowerPoint Presentation that included recorded extracts of various genres of music. Following this, two couples of dance students, came out and improvised a short dance related to one of the music genres they had just listened to.  As a learning outcome, the students were given a writing task based on their likes and views about music. During this lesson, media students filmed the dancing session and took pictures.

Year 11

To introduce the topic of revision of verbs, students were initially provided with the lyrics of a French song.  Then, while listening to the song on a video clip, they were asked to spot the verbs figuring out in the lyrics.  As a learning outcome, students had to draw two faces after listening to some facial descriptions based on some of the verbs given in the lyrics.
